Laura Emack’s one-act play recounts the 1958 election of Marion Laforge, Prospect’s first female selectman, over husband Elwood’s vigorous objections. Broken Bridges debuted at Prospect History Day in 2015 with an on-book performance directed by the playwright. Sandi Blanchette of Orland, best known for stage roles with the Gilbert and Sullivan Society of Maine at The Grand. Sandi directs the current full production by the "Stage Fright at the Fort Ensemble." The troupe also includes veteran Midcoast actors Beth and Mike Rowe, André Blanchard, Deborah Chretien, Eric Woodbury, Bronson Stephens, David Blanchette, and child actors Evelyn LaCroix, Bixby Hawkins, .
