Regular Operating Hours:

  • May 1 thru June 30 - Fort Knox Historic Site* and Observatory open from 9 am to 5 pm - Fort itself remains open until 6 pm
                   

  • July 1 thru August 31 - Fort Knox Historic Site* and Observatory open from 9 am to 6 pm - Fort itself remains open until 7 pm
     

  • September 1 thru October 31 - Fort Knox Historic Site* and Observatory open from 9 am to 5 pm - Fort itself remains open until 6 pm or sunset (whichever is earlier)

  • November 1 thru April 30 - Fort Knox Historic Site* and Observatory are closed. However, the park grounds are open 9 am to sunset.

  • Park grounds are open from 9 am to sunset — today, tomorrow, and every day - Year-round (weather depending)! â€‹

*Fort Knox Historic Site includes the Fort, Observatory and amenities like the gift shop & guest education/museum center.

When you visit the Fort and Observatory, stop in the Guest Education Center, which includes a free museum and the Gift Shop for snacks & souvenirs!
